Ghaziabad: Elderly couple dies in house fire


Ghaziabad, 22 April (Hindustan Reporter) An elderly couple died in a fire in a house in Tila Mod police station area on Monday. The fire brigade reached the spot and controlled the fire. Police have started investigating the case by sending the dead bodies for post-mortem.

ACP Siddharth Gautam said that the police received information that a house had caught fire in Farrukhnagar of Tila Mod police station area. Husband and wife are trapped in the fire. On receiving the information, the police immediately reached the spot along with the fire brigade and pulled out the elderly husband and wife trapped in the fire. Both of them got badly burnt due to the fire. Both were admitted to the nearest hospital, where they were declared dead. The deceased couple was identified as 57-year-old Irfan and his wife Shamajan (55). ACP said that the cause of the fire is being investigated. The matter is being investigated by sending the dead bodies for post-mortem.
