5 Indian players said goodbye to cricket together, now looking for new work

Retirement of Indian cricketers after Ranji Trophy 2024 : Five legendary players of India will no longer be seen on the field. Manoj Tiwary, Varun Aaron, Dhawal Kulkarni, Saurabh Tiwary and Faiz Fazal have decided to bid goodbye to cricket with the conclusion of the 2023-24 Ranji Trophy season. All these players have left their special mark while playing for India as well as in domestic cricket. Bengal's veteran player Manoj Tiwari, Jharkhand's batsman Saurabh Tiwari and fast bowler Varun Aaron, Mumbai's Dhawal Kulkarni and Vidarbha's Faiz Fazal have given different reasons for their retirement. This includes not having a contract for the IPL and losing hope of getting a place in the national team. Now these players want to join other work or politics.

The batsman who scored more than 10,000 runs in first class cricket said goodbye to cricket.

Varun Aaron, Manoj Tiwari and Faiz Fazal bid goodbye to their careers on the same ground where they started their cricket careers. 38-year-old Manoj Tiwari of Bengal said goodbye to his team after the win against Bihar yesterday. He has more than 10,000 runs to his name in first-class cricket. He has played 12 ODIs and 3 T20 matches for India.

Varun Aaron and Saurabh Tiwari

With the retirement of fast bowlers Varun Aaron and Saurabh Tiwari, a big void has been created in the Jharkhand team. Saurabh has played for Jharkhand team for 17 years. Saurabh Tiwari has played 3 ODI matches for India. He scored 8030 runs in 115 first-class matches, including 22 centuries and 34 fifties. He said, “I think if you do not get a place in the national team or in the IPL, then this is the right time to make room for young players.” Due to repeated injuries, Varun Aaron could not perform up to his potential. He played 9 Test and 9 ODI matches for India. He has taken 173 wickets in 66 matches in first-class cricket.

Faiz Fazal

Faiz Fazal played for Vidarbha for 21 years. Under his leadership, Vidarbha won the Ranji Trophy in 2018. He has 9183 runs in his name in first class cricket. Fazal played one ODI for India against Zimbabwe in 2016 in which he scored 55 not out.

Dhawal Kulkarni

Dhawal Kulkarni, who has played 12 ODIs and 2 T20 matches for India, is known for his swing, movement and accurate bowling. Mumbai's Dhawal Kulkarni has excelled in his 17-year domestic cricket career. The 35-year-old fast bowler played 95 first-class matches, taking 281 wickets at an average of 27.31.
