Mirzapur, 20 April (HS). On Saturday morning in Rajgarh police station area, a laborer who was working on making tents and lights for the wedding procession got burnt to death due to high tension current.
Gangaram (40), son of Barsatu, resident of Bairad village under Karma police station area of Sonbhadra district, used to install lights in the tent. The wedding procession of the daughter of Mukhu Pal, resident of Garhwa village, was going to arrive on Saturday evening, the work of setting up the tent was going on. Gangaram was erecting an iron pole to install a light in the tent. Meanwhile, the iron pole got stuck in the 11,000 volt wire passing overhead and Gangaram got seriously burnt. The villagers hurriedly took him to the Community Health Center Rajgarh, where the doctor declared him dead during examination. Police reached the spot after receiving the information, took possession of the body and started taking legal action.
Inspector in-charge Rajgarh Virendra Singh said that a laborer who was setting up a tent has died due to electric shock. The dead body has been sent for post-mortem.
