Google Wallet is going to be launched in India soon. Google's Wallet app is already listed on the Android Play Store, with screenshots showing features for Indian banks, airlines and other services. Although currently Indian users cannot download this app from Google Play Store, but users can sideload this app and can also link bank cards for contactless payments. According to the information received so far, this app will be integrated with Google Pay for users in the country.
According to a report by Tech Crunch, it is certain that Google Wallet is going to be launched in India, as the names of Indian brands in the listing include Air India, State Bank of India and PVR. Additionally, users can store flight tickets or loyalty points to purchase movie or event tickets in this wallet. However, no official announcement has been made by Google regarding the launch of Google Wallet app in India. Also another question is whether this app will work with or separate from the UPI-based Google Pay app in India.
Nowadays Google Pay app is proving to be more useful for the users because contactless payment can be done through it and through Google Pay you can make payment in any UPI. Although the company may launch the Google Wallet app in India, it remains to be seen whether the Wallet app will be integrated with the Google Pay app, or will work separately.
