Heavy rain continued in many parts of UAE from late Monday night to Tuesday morning, after which the situation became serious. After heavy rains in the capital Dubai, a flood like situation occurred. Dubai's streets, houses and malls were flooded. Officials have issued a warning amid heavy rain. The National Meteorological Center has issued a red alert in many parts of the country and appealed to the people to remain 'vigilant'. An alert has been issued till 6 pm on Wednesday.

Apart from Dubai, heavy rains have wreaked havoc in Oman also. 18 people have died here due to rain. Apart from this, flood like situations have also occurred in cities like Abu Dhabi and Al Ain after heavy rains. Many major highways and airports have been flooded, affecting air traffic. According to the information, the National Meteorological Center has predicted heavy rain in many areas including Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah till Wednesday. “Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and other places in the emirate are likely to experience not only heavy rain but also hailstorm,” said Ahmed Habib, who works at the National Meteorological Centre. People have been advised to park their vehicles at safe and elevated places away from flood prone areas. Due to rain, people have been asked to offer namaz at home instead of the mosque. Officials have advised to leave the house only when necessary.

Due to heavy rain and storm, Dubai International Airport was flooded. Therefore more than 50 flights have been cancelled. A Dubai Airports spokesperson said the problem was caused by a severe storm. But now there is recovery mode. Dubai Metro's Red Line service has been affected due to rain. Many metro stations are flooded. Bus services from Dubai to Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Ajman have been stopped. The situation is such that shopping centres, Duab Mall and Emirates are flooded with rain water.
Schools and colleges closed due to heavy rain

There is a possibility of hailstorm along with stormy rain. Apart from the UAE, some areas have recorded more than 80 millimeters or three inches of rain in the next 24 hours, well above the annual average.
