Because from today i.e. 15th April, registration can be done both online and offline. For online registration, you can login to the official website of the Shrine Board. According to the government order, Indian citizens between the age of 13 to 70 years can undertake Amarnath Yatra. The process of obtaining the medical certificate required for the journey is underway.
When does Amarnath Yatra start?
This year Amarnath Yatra will start from June 29. Registration for this 50-day journey will start from today, i.e. Monday, 15th April. This journey will end on 19 August 2024. The last time the Yatra could be done started from July 1. This time the journey will last for 52 days. Registration for this has started from 15th April i.e. today.
How to register through mobile:
If you want to register through mobile application then you will have to download Shri Amarnathji Yatra App. Whereas, offline registration can be done from Punjab National Bank, SBI, Yes Bank and Jammu and Kashmir Bank.
What proofs are required for registration?
Carry medical certificate, 4 passport size photographs, Aadhar card, RFID card, travel application form with you during the journey.
Medical advice before visiting Amarnath:
In terms of physical fitness, practice walking 4 to 5 kilometers daily. Do breathing exercises like pranayama and yoga. Carry woolen clothes, raincoat, trekking stick, water bottle and necessary medicine bag with you during the journey.
By which route can Amarnath be reached?
There are mainly two routes to reach Baba's court, one is Pahalgam route. Whereas the second route is the route of Baltal. Know which route will be better and which route will be more comfortable for tourists. Information about this is also available here.
Pahalgam route:
It takes 3 days to reach the cave through this route, but this route is easy. There is no steep climb in the journey. The first stop from Pahalgam is Chandanwadi. It is 16 km from the base camp. The climb starts from here. After a climb of three kilometers the trek reaches Pissu Top. From here the trek reaches Sheshnag in the evening. The journey is about 9 km. Next day the pilgrims go to Panchtarni from Sheshnag. It is about 14 km from Sheshnag. This cave is just 6 km away from Panchtarni.
Baltal Marg:
If time is short then you can go through Baltal route for darshan of Baba Amarnath. It involves climbing only 14 km, but it is quite steep, hence the elderly have to face difficulty on this path. This route has narrow paths and dangerous turns.
How many devotees come to see Baba?
Last time around 4.50 lakh devotees had come. This time 6 lakh passengers are likely to arrive. The tour is of short duration and there will be more crowd, hence more arrangements are being made. Arrangements for food, halt and health check-up will be made throughout the route. Preparations are underway for two camp hospitals equipped with oxygen booths, ICU beds, X-ray, sonography machines and liquid oxygen plants.
Know how is the path to see Baba:
Earlier the 46 km long route from Pahalgam to the cave was 3 to 4 feet wide and the Baltal route was 2 feet wide. Now it has been widened to 14 feet. According to the Border Roads Organization, the 14 kilometer road from Baltal to Gufa has become 7 to 12 feet wide. This is a motorable road. Helicopter service is also available.
