Rohit Sharma becomes the first Indian to hit 500 sixes in T20 cricket

Mumbai, April 15 (HS). India and Mumbai Indians (MI) star batsman Rohit Sharma has become the first Indian to hit 500 sixes in T20 cricket.

Rohit achieved the feat during the Indian Premier League (IPL) match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday.

Rohit gave his best performance in the match and scored 105* runs in 63 balls. His innings included 11 fours and five sixes. The former Mumbai Indians captain scored these runs at a strike rate of 166.67.

With the 5 sixes hit in the match, Rohit's name has reached 502 sixes in T-20 cricket.

The most number of sixes in T20 cricket is by West Indies legend Chris Gayle (1,056 sixes), followed by West Indies all-rounder Kieron Pollard (860 sixes), Andre Russell (678 sixes) and Colin Munro (548 sixes).

Rohit has scored 261 runs in six matches of this IPL season at an average of 52.20 and a strike rate of more than 167 with one century.

Talking about the match, Mumbai won the toss and gave CSK a chance to bat first.
