Mumbai: The prices of various domestic and imported edible oils remained broadly soft in Mumbai oilseed market today. New business was slow. 50 to 100 tonnes of imported palm oil was traded in hawala reselling. In the global market, soybean oil prices were 12 to 13 points lower in overnight trade in US agricultural markets. While soybean prices increased to 146 points from 142, soybean oil prices also increased by 88 points.
Meanwhile, domestically, cotton wash remained steady at Rs 930-935 amid slow recovery in Saurashtra, while Saurashtra single oil remained calm at Rs 1,450 and Rs 2,330 per 15 kg.
Today, the price of 10 kg castor oil reached Rs 1500 and the price of cottonseed oil reached Rs 990 in Mumbai spot market. The price of palm oil imported from Mumbai rose to Rs 962 from Rs 960, while the price of crude palm oil CPO Kandla rose to Rs 935 from Rs 930.
Mumbai soybean oil prices stood at Rs 915 for degum and Rs 960 for refined, while prices for sunflower stood at Rs 870 and Rs 950 for refined. Mumbai Mustard – Mustard oil prices today fell by Rs 10 to Rs 1030 and refined to Rs 1060. Mumbai Diwali prices rose by Rs 5 per quintal, while castor jaggery prices rose by Rs 25 per quintal.
However, Mumbai's open market was quiet. In Gondal, the price of palm oil was Rs 965 and the price of refined soybean oil was Rs 940. The price of washed cotton was Rs 930 to Rs 935 and the price of refined cotton was Rs 975.
Soybean income increased by 50 thousand times in Madhya Pradesh and 75 thousand times in Maharashtra, mustard income increased by 4 lakh 25 thousand times in Rajasthan and 7 lakh 25 thousand times at all India level. In Rajasthan, prices increased by Rs 25 from Rs 5400 to Rs 5425.
