There was an encounter between SOG and Gauribazar police late Thursday evening with three miscreants who threw inflammable substance at two girls in Gauribazar police station area. In the encounter, two people were shot in the leg, while one miscreant managed to escape taking advantage of the darkness.
Two girls from a village in Gauribazar police station area were coming to the town on bicycle. When they reached Gauribazar-Hata road, miscreants riding bikes threw inflammable substance at the girls. Due to which the face of one girl got burnt and the hand of another girl got burnt.
On the complaint of the girl's father, Gauri Bazar police registered a case under crime number 156/24 section 326 (A) IPC and started investigating the case.
Superintendent of Police Sankalp Sharma formed three police teams and deployed them to search for the youth. SOG and Gauribazar police informed late on Thursday evening that the three youths were about to run away. Police and SOG started checking vehicles near Guruch Ghat. Meanwhile, three youths riding on bikes were seen coming. As soon as they saw the police, three youths riding a motorcycle turned the bike back and tried to run away. Meanwhile, the bike went out of control and overturned and the miscreants fell down. The bigots opened indiscriminate fire on the police team. In police response, Shekhar son of Shankar resident of Langdi Devkuan police station Gauribazar and Dara Singh son of Late. Kishun Singh, resident of Devgaon police station, Gauribazar district, Deoria, was shot in his leg. The third accused escaped taking advantage of the darkness. Police arrested both the accused and took them to the district hospital for treatment, who are undergoing treatment in police custody.
In this regard, Superintendent of Police Sankalp Sharma said that in the encounter, two people were shot in the leg, while one miscreant managed to escape taking advantage of the darkness. The police are forming a team and raiding to make arrests.
