The race for admission in pre-primary and primary classes of Sarvodaya Vidyalayas of Delhi is about to begin. In these schools, admission to the vacant seats of pre-primary and primary classes will be available on 'first come first serve' basis. The admission process will start from 15th April. In this regard, the school branch of the Directorate of Education has issued a circular on Tuesday and given guidelines regarding filling the seats.
Schools will have to post the details of vacant seats on the notice board near the main entrance. Instructions have also been given to give information about vacant seats to the school management committee members and school friends. Preference will be given to those applying for admission on transfer basis in Sarvodaya Vidyalayas. Maximum 40 students can be admitted.
The seat of a child who is absent for a long period in the current session will not be considered vacant until he is admitted in another school. If the child is absent from the previous year and could not be reached then the seat will be considered vacant. Apart from this, if there is no Sarvodaya Vidyalaya within a radius of three kilometers of one's house then he will be eligible for admission. Apart from this, people living within a radius of one kilometer will also be able to apply for admission.
Admission for classes 6 to 9 also started
Let us tell you that, the registration process under the first phase for non-planned admission from classes 6 to 9 in government schools for the academic session 2024-25 in Delhi has also started from Monday, April 8. Be eligible to apply for admission. This process will be completed in 3 phases. Parents will have to register on the website of Directorate of Education www.edudel.nic.in. Interested students will be able to register online for admission till April 17. The list of selected applicants will be displayed on 29th April. Document verification will take place from 30 April to 10 May.
Helpline number released: Help desk facilities will be provided in schools to ensure that applicants do not face any difficulties. Parents will also be able to contact the school to fill the application form. Information regarding admission can be obtained by calling 1800116888 and 10580 on all working days from 7:30 am to 6:30 pm.
