A single bench of the High Court had ordered the Punjab government that if the date of retirement is one year from the date of his last increment, the employee is entitled to the annual increment payable on that date.
The increase due to the order of the High Court has had a direct impact on the retirement benefits of the employees. In 2022, the Punjab Government filed an appeal in the Division Bench against this decision of the Single Bench. On Tuesday, the High Court rejected the appeal of the Punjab government and accepted the order of the single bench.
