According to the latest report of the Meteorological Department (IMD), this period of hot winds will continue for the next one week and there is no hope of getting immediate relief from the heat. However, there is a possibility of sporadic drizzle in some selected areas.

Yellow alert issued in 25 districts including capital Lucknow

According to Atul Kumar Singh, senior scientist of the Zonal Meteorological Center, the effect of heat wave will increase rapidly in the capital Lucknow and its surrounding areas from Saturday. On Friday, the maximum temperature of Lucknow was recorded at 40.3 degrees and the minimum temperature was 29.8 degrees Celsius. In view of the worsening situation, the Meteorological Department has issued a ‘Yellow Alert’ of heat wave in 25 districts of Uttar Pradesh including Lucknow, Prayagraj, Varanasi and Kanpur and has advised people not to come out of their homes without any reason in the afternoon.

Banda remained the hottest city of UP, even the nights became scorching furnace.

Bundelkhand’s Banda district was the hottest place in entire Uttar Pradesh with a maximum temperature of 43.2 degrees Celsius during the last 24 hours. According to the data of the Meteorological Department, the day temperature in the districts of Eastern UP is 3 to 5 degrees Celsius above normal.

The only thing of relief is that a slight drop of 2 to 4 degrees in temperature can be seen in the coming days. But, along with the days, now the nights have also started troubling us. The night temperature has increased by 1 to 3 degrees from normal, due to which there is severe humidity and restlessness even at night and people are not getting cool air.

The pace has slowed down, but monsoon may arrive by this date

The biggest question for the residents of Uttar Pradesh who are struggling with the scorching heat is that when will the relief rain i.e. monsoon come? According to the estimates of the Meteorological Department, the wait for monsoon in UP may end by June 23.

In fact, in recent times the pace of monsoon has slowed down a bit because the flow of moisture coming from the Arabian Sea has weakened. Due to this, dry and hot winds (Pachhua) are continuously blowing in North-West India. Meteorologists hope that the coming new Western Disturbance will reduce the effect of these dry winds, which will increase moisture in the atmosphere of entire North India and change the weather patterns.
