The district administration, police and municipal corporation have geared up to conduct the holy festival of Eid-ul-Azha (Bakrid) peacefully and safely in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh. In view of the festival, a large-scale action plan has been prepared to ensure security, cleanliness and smooth traffic. While the Municipal Corporation has started a special cleanliness campaign by dividing the entire metropolis into four zones, the police administration has created an impenetrable security circle by dividing the sensitive areas around Idgah into 11 sectors. A 6-hour special route diversion has also been implemented to maintain smooth traffic flow during Namaz on the festival day.

Municipal Corporation’s action plan: 4 zones, 10 QRT teams and garbage will be collected every 30 minutes.

To maintain cleanliness in the city during Bakrid, Moradabad Municipal Corporation has divided the entire metropolitan area into four different zones. Along with this, 10 Quick Response Teams (QRT) have been formed to deal with any emergency situation or complaint, which will immediately reach the spot and solve the problem as soon as the information is received. One of the most important arrangements during the festival is that strict arrangements have been made to safely pick up the ojas (remains after sacrifice) every 30 minutes.

Municipal Commissioner Divyanshu Patel held a review meeting with subordinate officers and gave a clear warning that any kind of negligence in work will not be tolerated. Regular cleaning, lime-fogging and water sprinkling is being done around the main Eidgah located at Galshaheed and all the mosques. Along with this, the campaign to remove encroachment from Idgah Road and catch stray dogs has also been intensified.

Surveillance at every nook and corner: Eidgah area divided into 11 sectors, surveillance through drones and watch towers.

The police administration has made very strict arrangements to maintain security and peace. SP City Kumar Ranvijay Singh said that in view of security, Idgah and its surrounding area has been divided into 11 sectors, while the entire Moradabad city has been divided into 20 sectors. The command of each sector has been handed over to senior officers of CO (Area Officer) and Inspector level.

In this security arrangement, more than 500 policemen and two company PAC personnel have been deployed under the leadership of 10 COs. Roof top duty and watch towers have been built on tall buildings, from where soldiers will be deployed with binoculars and modern weapons. Apart from this, more than 100 CCTV cameras have been activated in the entire Eidgah area and the main control room has been set up in a building located in front. Aerial monitoring of the entire area will also be done through drone cameras.

No-entry on Idgah Road for 6 hours: Route diversion will remain from 6 am to 12 noon

To avoid traffic jam during Bakrid Namaz, the traffic police has prepared a special route diversion plan in Moradabad. According to SP Traffic Subhash Chandra Gangwar, on May 28, from 6:00 am to 12:00 noon, entry of vehicles will be completely restricted (no-entry) on Idgah Road and all the roads around it.

No heavy vehicles, commercial trucks or buses will be allowed to enter Moradabad city during this time period. To ensure smooth traffic flow, strong barriers have been installed at various places and additional traffic policemen have been deployed. The administration has made it clear that the time of this diversion can be increased or decreased as per the situation and requirement.

Strict guidelines of the administration: Complete ban on open sacrifice and throwing ooz

Regarding Bakrid, District Magistrate (DM) Dr. Rajendra Pansia and SSP Satpal Antil have clarified the situation with all the communities by holding a meeting of the Peace Committee. ADM City Ankur Srivastava has issued strict instructions by holding an online meeting with the Sub-District Magistrates (SDM) and Tehsildars of the metropolitan and ADM Administration Sangeeta Gautam of rural areas and all the bodies.

According to the main guidelines issued by the administration, sacrifice will not be allowed in open places under any circumstances. Along with this, there will be a complete ban on throwing the remains of the sacrifice in the open, so that religious sentiments are not hurt and filth does not spread. Administrative officers are continuously patrolling and keeping an eye on the arrangements in both rural and urban areas.
