7th Pay Commission: After increasing the dearness allowance of central employees by 50 percent, an office memorandum has been presented indicating the possibility of major changes in six other allowances, which will be effective from July 24. The Central Government has decided to amend Child Education Allowance, Risk Allowance, Night Duty Allowance, Overtime Allowance, Special Allowance for Parliamentary Assistants and Special Allowance for Child Care of Women with Disabilities.
Dearness allowance for central employees was increased from 4 percent to 50 percent. Which is applicable from January-24. Dearness allowance for central employees is decided by AICPI index i.e. CPI(IW). Is issued by the Labor Bureau on the last working day of each month.
Child Education Allowance:
Educational allowance of children under hostel subsidy is Rs. Rs 6750 and double allowance for disabled children.
Risk Allowance:
Under government rules, risk allowance is given on the basis of the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission. In which employees working in dangerous places get the benefit of this allowance.
night duty allowance
The benefit of this allowance is available to the central employees who are on duty from 10 pm to 6 am. In which the allowance is decided by giving weightage of 10 minutes for every hour.
overtime allowance
According to the 7th Pay Commission, employees included in the category of operational staff get overtime allowance, the grant of which is determined on the basis of biometric attendance.
Special allowance for assistants to MPs
Special allowance is provided for assistants to MPs. In which the allowance of employees associated with parliamentary work was increased by 50 percent during the Parliament session.
Special Child Care Allowance for Disabled Women
This is to provide special allowance for child care to women with disabilities. In which disabled women are given Rs. 3000 are eligible. Which is available from the birth of the child till the child turns 2 years old.
