Pakistan is going to host the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. There is already a discussion going on regarding the ICC tournament to be held next year whether the Indian team will go to Pakistan to play the match or not. Even before this, Asia Cup 2023 was organized in Pakistan, but India had refused to play the match in Pakistan. For this reason all India's matches were played in Sri Lanka. Former BCCI President Anurag Thakur said whether the Indian team will go to Pakistan to play Champions Trophy 2025 or not.
What did the Sports Minister say on going to Pakistan?
Former BCCI President Anurag Thakur said in an event that Pakistan wants to promote terrorists in India and this cannot happen if we go to play cricket matches in Pakistan. He said that although the decision will be taken by the BCCI, India should not travel to Pakistan to participate in the tournament. He further said that the Indian team will go to Pakistan to play cricket only when Pakistan stops supporting its terrorists, otherwise cricket matches will not be played between the two teams except ICC tournaments. The former BCCI President has made it clear in his statement that the Indian team will not go to Pakistan to play the Champions Trophy.
Pakistan complained to ICC
When the Indian team did not go to Pakistan to play matches in Asia Cup 2023, the PCB was very unhappy. After this, when the hosting of Champions Trophy 2025 was also given to Pakistan, India once again started refusing to go to Pakistan. PCB also complained about this to ICC. PCB complained about the Indian team to ICC and asked them to come to Pakistan to play the match, if they did not come then action would be taken against them. There was a lot of controversy regarding this. In such a situation, fans were also asking whether India will go to Pakistan to participate in the Champions Trophy 2025 or not, but now the Sports Minister has made it clear that Team India will not go to Pakistan.
