Salvan Momika, who angered millions of people by burning the Quran in Sweden, has been claimed to have died in Norway.
In June last year, Salwan had burnt a copy of the Quran in front of the largest mosque in Sweden's capital Stockholm in the name of independence. One of his friends also made a video of this act. However, there were protests against Salwan in many places around the world including Sweden and the Swedish government was also heavily criticized by Muslim countries for allowing him to commit such acts.
Salwan Momika was granted asylum in her country by the Swedish government in 2021. Earlier, Salwan had fled from Iraq in 2018. In Iraq he led an armed group. Salvan, a self-proclaimed atheist, has protested against Islam several times in Sweden.
However, after the Quran burning incident, he left Sweden and moved to Norway. Now a media report says that a 37-year-old man has died and his name is said to be Salwan Momika. After this, this incident remained discussed on social media on Tuesday.
Norwegian authorities have neither supported nor denied this media report. Meanwhile, Radio Genoa, which reported the news of his death, later removed posts related to him from social media.
