New Delhi, 3 April (Hindustan Reporter) Punjab FC midfielder Madih Talal has been named the Indian Super League (ISL) Player of the Month for his outstanding performances throughout the month of February.
The selection process for this honor is divided between fan votes, which contribute 50% of the total vote share, and expert votes determining the remaining 50%. The voting period for the February 2024 Player of the Month ran from March 7, 12:30 pm, to March 11, 12:30 pm.
According to a release issued by the ISL, Talal received only 4% of the fan votes, while Dimitri Petratos led with 48%. He was followed by Tommy Juric at 19%, Subhashish Bose at 9%, Jeremy Manzoro at 8%, Vikram Pratap Singh at 6% and Roy Krishna at 4%.
However, French player Talal prevailed with the expert votes. He received five votes out of eight from the expert panel, while Manzoro received two votes and Djuric received one vote.
Orchestrating Punjab FC's attacking prowess, Talal has developed himself into one of Punjab FC's most effective players in the ISL, resulting in his team rising up the points table.
The 26-year-old scored two goals and provided three assists as Punjab secured wins against Bengaluru FC, Kerala Blasters FC and Hyderabad FC.
He demonstrated his dual ability by scoring one goal and providing 1 assist in crucial wins against Bengaluru (3–1) and Hyderabad FC (2–0). He also scored one goal and assisted one in the team's 3–1 win against Kerala.
