It is often seen that Indian citizens have to wait for a long time to get a US visa. The new order of the US President can provide relief in this matter. Biden has ordered that the US reduce visa waiting times in India.
Know what the US Ambassador to India said?
America's Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti has said this. Stressing on visa appointments and waiting time, he said President Joe Biden has ordered him to reduce the waiting time for visas in India. This is the first time that America has asked any country to investigate the matter. Garcetti also said that the issue of green card backlog is also a big problem and it will also be resolved soon. He further said that this decision has been taken keeping in mind the multiple visa cases, this order will reduce the waiting time by 75 percent.
Some US legal limitations: Garcetti
The American Ambassador said that whether it is about immigrants, green card or permanent citizenship, in America too, like other countries, there are some legal limits for every work. He also said that these standards are disappointing for Indians because there are many Indians who want to go to America. Garcetti said India is second only to Mexico in terms of the number of students seeking US visas. In the year 2023, more than 245,000 Indian students came to America with visa.
President Biden gave this order
Garcetti said the US has increased visa issuances across India by 60 percent and reduced wait times by 75 percent. He was asked why despite reducing the visa deadline by 75 percent, there is a waiting period of 250 days. In response to this question, the Ambassador said that in this matter, President Biden has ordered to reduce the visa waiting time in India. This is probably the first time that a President has said this to the ambassador of any country. He emphasized that this is a big priority for President Biden and will require Democrats, Republicans and independents coming together.
