Ukraine's state-owned grid operator Ukrainergo said Friday's attacks deliberately targeted thermal and hydropower plants in the central and western regions. DTEK, Ukraine's largest private electricity operator, also said three of its thermal power plants were damaged in the attack. He announced an emergency power shutoff in the city of Odessa, leaving many areas without power.
Serhiy Lysak, local governor of the Dnipropetrovsk region, said five people, including a five-year-old girl, were injured in the attack in the area. Russia said on Friday that a Ukrainian drone strike in the Belgorod region killed one person and injured two others. NATO alliance member Romania said it had found pieces of the drone on Thursday night in fields on the Ukrainian border and near the Danube River. Romania's Defense Ministry said it also found parts of the drone on March 28. The Ministry of National Defense has said it is investigating the incident. However, Romania also said that previous attacks did not indicate an attack on Romania.
