Fatehpur, March 30 (Hindustan Reporter) Fatehpur Lok Sabha seat, which came into existence since 1957, has held elections 17 times so far and 12 MPs have been elected. Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti had contested the Lok Sabha elections in 2014 on BJP ticket from this seat. He won by defeating BSP's Afzal Siddiqui. At the same time, BJP supporters are working day and night to bring voters to their side for the hat-trick of popular candidate Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti.
If Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti wins this time, it will be the first time in this Lok Sabha seat that an MP will win for the third consecutive time and will break the myth of 57 years on this seat and set a new record of scoring a hat-trick.
BJP's Niranjan Jyoti had got 4,85,994 votes. BJP's Niranjan Jyoti had won this seat by defeating BSP's Afzal Siddiqui by 1 lakh 87 thousand 206 votes. Sadhvi was not only elected in this election but also created history by becoming the first woman MP to win from this Lok Sabha seat after 57 years.
In the 2019 general elections, BJP again fielded its candidate from this seat. In this too, Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti represented the district for the second consecutive time by defeating her nearest rival Sukhdev Verma of BSP. While being an MP, Sadhvi also became a minister in the central government.
Now in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Bharatiya Janata Party has placed its bet on Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti for the third time. However, SP and BSP have not yet fielded their candidates on this seat. Due to non-announcement of candidates of these two parties, BJP faces a tough challenge regarding its election strategy.
