This provision will not apply to those employees whose absence poses a threat.

Paid leave to employees and officers in Bihar too, notification issued

The Nitish Kumar government of Bihar has also announced paid holiday for employees of public and private institutions on the day of voting during the Lok Sabha elections. Let us tell you that voting for 40 Lok Sabha seats of Bihar will be held in 7 phases (19 April, 26 April, 7 May, 13 May, 20 May, 25 May and 1 June) between 19 April and 1 June. By-election for Agiaon (Bhojpur) assembly constituency will also be held on June 1. According to a notification issued by the General Administration Department (GAD), there will be a holiday in offices and workplaces in all Lok Sabha constituencies where voting will take place. Paid leave to employees in Chhattisgarh also

For the Lok Sabha Elections-2024, every employee working in private or public establishments, shops, industrial undertakings or businesses is provided paid leave as per the provisions of Section 135B of the Representation of the People 1951 for exercising his/her franchise on the day of polling.
