baltimore: The ship's dispatcher sent a twelve-second warning message over the radio before the freighter Francis Scott Key Pool collided with the Francis Scott Key Pool while passing through the Patapsco River in the city of Baltimore, Maryland, USA. Tuesday night around 1:30 pm. Upon receiving the message that the huge cargo ship was going out of control, police officers stopped traffic in both directions on the pool, thereby avoiding a major loss of life. The ship's black box has been recovered and sent to a laboratory for further investigation.

The 948 feet long container ship was passing under the steel pool at a speed of fifteen kilometers per hour when it lost power before hitting the pool and then crashed into the pool. The result was that eight workers repairing the pool fell into the river water. A police officer said he was going to warn them that the ship was about to hit the pool, but it was too late. Two of these laborers were saved. One of them was treated at the hospital and released. The bodies of the remaining six laborers have not been found and they are assumed dead. The missing workers were from Guatemala, Honduras and Mexico, their countries' embassies said. A worker from Honduras was identified as Manor Yasir Suazo Sandova.

Jesus Campos, who worked with these workers, said that while repairing the pool for Browder Builders the workers had a break and some of them were sitting in their trucks. Jeffrey Pritzker, a senior executive at Browder Builders, said it was a completely unexpected turn of events. They were working in the middle of the pool when the pool collapsed. Police said that apart from these workers, there is no evidence of anyone else falling into the river. Now the search for the dead bodies of the workers will be started again on Wednesday.

State Senator Johnny Ray said the destruction of the pool affected the entire East Coast. U.S. Transportation Secretary Pat Buttigieg said it was difficult to set a timeline for how long it would take to clear the pool's debris from the 50-foot-deep channel.

President Biden praised the punctuality of Indian sailors

Indian sailors were praised for their promptness in issuing timely warnings before the ship hit the docks in Baltimore. Biden said the ship's crew reported the loss of control to the Maryland Department of Transportation. Due to this, local authorities closed the pool to traffic from both sides, preventing major damage. Biden said there is currently no evidence that this was an intentional act.
