China angry at Pakistan: China is shocked by the death of its own citizens in Pakistan. Pakistan is being continuously warned by the Chinese government. China is most angry with the attacks in and around Gwadar, in which the Baloch Liberation Army is targeting Chinese citizens. Also, in the last three years, about 28 Chinese citizens have been killed in different attacks in Balochistan. These attacks are taking place at a time when Pakistan has created a special unit, which has more than 4,000 soldiers, to protect Chinese citizens.

China is shocked by the increasing attacks

Once again Chinese citizens have been targeted in Pakistan. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, attackers carrying a car filled with explosives hit the car of Chinese citizens. Six people were killed in the attack, five of whom were Chinese nationals. The suicide attack took place when Chinese nationals were heading towards the Dasu Hydro Power Plant in Gwadar. When China expressed its displeasure after the attack, the Pakistani government was surprised. After the attack, Home Minister Mohsin Naqvi immediately reached the Chinese Embassy and met Ambassador Jiang Zedong. President Asif Ali Zardari also strongly condemned the attack, calling it a conspiracy to harm Pakistan-China friendship.

More than 28 Chinese citizens have died so far

So far, more than 28 Chinese citizens have lost their lives in separate attacks carried out by the Baloch Liberation Army in Pakistan. Earlier in August, a convoy going to Gwadar was also attacked in which 4 Chinese citizens were killed. Earlier, a doctor died together in September 2022, four Chinese professors in April 2022 and nine Chinese engineers died together in July 2021. Even before this, 3 Chinese citizens had died in a bomb blast in Karachi. Around 28 Chinese citizens have been killed so far in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa bomb blasts, Dalbandin attack, Chinese Embassy and Quetta attacks.

Why are Chinese citizens being targeted?

The targeting of Chinese citizens in Pakistan started in 2007, when three Chinese citizens were murdered simultaneously. This was the time when talks started between Pakistan and China regarding CPEC i.e. China Pakistan Economic Corridor. All the Chinese citizens killed in separate attacks were part of projects related to this corridor. A few days ago, Japanese media organization Nikkei Asia had written a report on this, in which it was said that Balochistan Liberation Army and other organizations feel that the region is being harmed because of Chinese citizens. They argue that natural resources are being exploited in the name of corridor projects and development is not taking place accordingly.

Need to tighten security in Pakistan: China

Regarding the attack on Chinese civilians, Qian Feng, director of the Research Department of the National Strategy Institute at Tsinghua University, said that this attack is a warning to Pakistan, which shows that Pakistan still needs a lot of work in the security sector. . In an article published in Global Times, he described this attack as a copy of the 2021 attack in which 9 Chinese citizens were killed. At the same time, such attacks show that terrorist forces do not want to see the success of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and are constantly plotting to thwart it.

Who is Baloch Liberation Army?

Since independence, the people of Balochistan do not consider themselves a part of Pakistan. This is the reason why people living in Balochistan are continuously being treated differently. In such a situation, his anger is continuously increasing. The Baloch Liberation Army first came into existence in the year 1970, when Pakistan was ruled by Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. After this the protests continued to increase. However, the establishment of the Baloch Liberation Army is believed to be behind the hand grenade explosion at Zulfikar's meeting, which killed a youth named Majid Lango.
