KDA hunger strike: Ladakh social activist and environmentalist Sonam Wangchuk is on hunger strike in Leh since March 6. They are demanding statehood and constitutional protection for the Union Territory of Ladakh under the Sixth Schedule. On Sunday (24 March), Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA) also protested in Kargil and started a hunger strike.
Recently, Sonam Wangchuk went on a hunger strike after talks between the Apex Body of Ladakh (ABL) Leh (ABL) and Kargil Democratic Alliance with the Union Home Ministry in Delhi failed. They named their hunger strike Climate Fast.
On Sunday morning, KDA members, councilors, religious leaders, youth, politicians and social workers reached Hussaini Park in Kargil and sat on hunger strike. Hundreds of people started a hunger strike in Hussaini Park.
Day 20 of my #climatefast
3000 people are fasting with me. But not a single word has been spoken yet by the government.
Very unusual for a democracy… when 90% of the population has come forward to remind the leaders of their promises and 100 people are on a 20-day fast.
But we are overwhelmed by the public support across the country…the mainstream media is being manipulated.
Support of Mehbooba Mufti-
Let us tell you that PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti has reacted on this issue in support of the demand of the people of Ladakh. Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti wrote on Twitter on Sunday, “Now that the nexus between BJP and capitalists has been exposed, it gives a perfect explanation as to why the Indian government is ignoring the legitimate demands of the Ladakhis. ” “Damaged Sonam Wangchuk gets little sympathy.” This did not cause concern.
Sharing the link to the Indian Express news, the PDP chief wrote in the post, “Now the lithium reserves of Jammu and Kashmir are also being looted and gifted to dubious companies, who later use this illegal income.” Will do it as 'party fund'. ruling party..
