The knockout matches of Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25 continue. The teams of Maharashtra and Karnataka entered the semi-finals by winning the two quarter-final matches played on Saturday, January 11. Now the fate of four more teams will be decided today, Sunday, January 12, when the quarter-final matches will be held between Gujarat and Haryana, and Vidarbha and Rajasthan.

The winning team of the quarter-final between Gujarat and Haryana will have to face Karnataka in the semi-finals, while the winning team of the match between Vidarbha and Rajasthan will face Maharashtra. These semi-final matches will be played in Vadodara on 15 and 16 March, and the final match will be held on 18 January. It is noteworthy that Haryana team is the current champion and their performance in this tournament has been excellent.

Talking about the quarter-final matches held on Saturday, Maharashtra defeated Punjab by 70 runs, while Karnataka defeated Baroda by 5 runs in a very close match. Devdutt Padikkal of Karnataka made an important contribution by scoring a century, while Arshin Kulkarni of Maharashtra also scored a strong century and took the team to a strong score. Baroda’s Shashwat Rawat scored a century, but he did not get enough support from the other end, due to which Baroda had to face defeat.

Teams from Vidarbha and Rajasthan have failed to win the title of this tournament, and this time too it is impossible for a team to reach the final, as the losing team will be eliminated from the tournament. The winning team will try to make it to the semi-finals against Maharashtra.
