The holy month of Ramzan is going on but the Pakistani government is leaving no stone unturned in torturing people even in this holy month. Before the elections, many political parties here had promised to supply domestic gas without any hindrance in the month of Ramzan. But after the formation of the government, all these promises have become hollow. Despite the promise, there has been a gas shortage in the neighboring country during the holy month of Ramzan. Due to this, it has become difficult for people to light the stove at home. Now people have become dependent on LPG cylinders. Due to which gas prices have increased significantly.
Fed up with the false promises of the government, the people of Pakistan have started relying on LPG gas cylinders for cooking food for Sehri and Iftar. In view of such increase in demand for LPG cylinders, black marketing has also started. Along with this, LPG cylinder dealers have also taken advantage of the situation and increased the prices of gas to a record. The general public of Pakistan is troubled by this situation. According to Pakistani newspaper Express Tribune, in Karachi, where this LPG gas cylinder was available for Rs 200, its price has now become Rs 500.
Like the people of Karachi, the residents of Lahore are also troubled by the similar situation. City resident Muhammad Ijaz said that the government's assurance of uninterrupted supply of gas during Ramzan is false. “The gas schedule given by Sui Northern Gas Company is not being followed, resulting in running out of gas,” he said. Moreover, people have installed illegal gas generators in their homes, further adding to their plight. While Mohammad Umair agreed with Ijaz and said that the government has left the people to their fate. Since there is no gas, the bill becomes very high if people use electricity.
