Mirzapur, 16 March (HS). Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given a big gift to the people of the district by virtually laying the foundation stone of Maa Vindhyavasini State University to be built on 25.500 hectares at a cost of Rs 155 crore in Mirzapur at a program organized in Moradabad on Saturday.
In a program organized at Deori Kala in Madihan tehsil, Union Minister of State Anupriya Patel along with public representatives and officials performed the Bhoomi Pujan of the State University and unveiled the stone slab by pressing the button. He said that after the construction of the university, about six lakh students of the three districts of the division, Mirzapur, Bhadohi and Sonbhadra, will get the opportunity of high quality education after intermediate.
He said that after the construction of the university, a total of 148 self-financed colleges, 10 government colleges and three semi-government colleges of Mirzapur, Bhadohi and Sonbhadra will be affiliated to Maa Vindhyavasini State University. The already registered students will be transferred to the university, as a result, a total of 1 lakh 17 thousand 158 students will get the facility to study in various courses.
He said that residential facilities will be provided to the Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Financial Officer, Controller of Examinations and professors in the university campus itself. To provide residential facilities to the students studying, a girls hostel for 135 girls and a boys hostel for 185 students are being constructed.
To strengthen the security arrangements of the university campus, it is proposed to construct a police booth in the campus itself. A central library will be constructed in the university which will make availability of text books easy. Construction of football field and auditorium is also proposed to include extra-curricular activities for the all-round development of the students, which will achieve the aim of excellent academic achievement as well as best personality development.
