And Ashwin took to social media to share a screenshot of his last day’s call log as an Indian cricketer, two days after his retirement, after saying goodbye to international cricket after the third Test and returning to his native India. Apart from his father, Ashwinan also called legendary players like Sachin Tendulkar and Kapil Dev.

Former veteran cricketer Kapil Dev even said about Ashwin’s retirement that the Indian team should have stopped him from retiring. Such a great player should not have been allowed to retire. Hal R Ashwin is 38 years old. However, Ashwin will continue to play in club cricket and domestic cricket. But now he will not be able to watch the match from India. Sharing the call log on social media, Ashwin wrote, ‘If someone had told me 25 years ago that you would have a smart phone and the call log of my last day as an Indian cricketer would be like this, I would have had a heart attack. That moment would have been ‘Thank you Sachin Tendulkar and Kapil Dev.’

Ashwin’s cricket career

Regarding Ashwin’s retirement, his father said in an interview, ‘He could not bear any more insults and that is why he retired.’ Ashwin played 106 Tests, 116 ODIs and 65 T20 International matches for the Indian team as a bowling all-rounder. During this period, he took 547, 156 and 72 wickets in all three formats respectively. In which he has scored 3503, 707, 184 runs. Ashwin scored 6 centuries and 14 half-centuries in Tests and one half-century in ODIs.
