Israel–Gaza War: At least 20 people waiting for food aid were killed and 155 wounded in Gaza on Thursday, CNN reported, citing the health ministry in the Palestinian enclave.
Mohammed Gharaab, a doctor at Al Shifa Hospital's emergency unit, said the death toll was likely to rise as the injured were still being taken to hospital, the report said.
Earlier, a witness at the scene said dozens of people had been killed, CNN reported, with video reportedly showing dozens of bodies lying at the scene.
Israeli forces have targeted a crowd of civilians waiting for humanitarian aid to quench their thirst at a Kuwaiti intersection in Gaza, the Palestinian Health Ministry said.
According to eyewitnesses, the area shook with sounds like artillery fire or tanks firing.
In a statement on Thursday, Gaza civil defense spokesman Mahmoud Bassal blamed Israel for the attack.
CNN quoted Mahmoud Bassal as saying that the Israeli occupation forces are still pursuing a policy of killing innocent civilians who are waiting for relief aid as a result of the famine in the northern Gaza Strip.
Meanwhile, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) announced that humanitarian aid would enter Gaza by sea for the first time.

Muhammad Abu Hassan, commander of a Hamas operations unit, was killed in a precision strike in the Rafah region, the IDF said Thursday, amid the ongoing war with Israel.
