A pair of brothers clashed with each other, one was playing for Australia and the other for England

The story of these two brothers who have played international cricket is somewhat cinematic. Both of them played top level cricket as fast bowlers but one played for England while the other played for England's arch rivals Australia. Full stop was later made but younger brother James Pattison played 21 Tests, 15 ODIs and 4 T20Is. to Australia. James retired in 2021 after a career plagued by injuries. Darren Pattinson played one Test for England while James Pattinson played 21 Tests, 15 ODIs and four T20 matches for Australia.

My mother did not like the atmosphere there

Darren, who plays for England, is 11 years older than James. Darren was born on 2 August 1979 in Grimsby (Lincolnshire), England. The Pattinson brothers' father, John, is from Grimsby, while their mother is from Wombwell Town, Yorkshire. The Pattinson family later moved to Australia where younger brother James was born in Melbourne on 3 May 1990. After this, the family continued to travel between England and Australia. James once said, When I was six or seven years old, our family came back to England but we only stayed there for six months. My mother didn't like the cold weather in England, so we came back to Australia.

My father was a supporter of England

According to James, if things had gone well, I could have played international cricket for England as well. When I was young I had a dual passport. Initially my father was a big England supporter, but he changed his mind after seeing the way his elder brother Darren was treated while playing for England.
