After a poor performance in the first innings of the first Test against Australia, the Indian team made a great comeback. KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal performed brilliantly in the second innings. Till the end of the second day’s play, both remained unbeaten after scoring half-centuries. Actually, both the batsmen made many records in this match. But Rahul and Jaiswal broke the record of Vinoo Mankad and Chandu Sarawate, which they had achieved together in the year 1948.

Amazing work of Jaiswal and Rahul

Till the end of the second day’s play, Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul batted brilliantly. By the end of the second day’s play, both of them made a partnership of 172 runs for the first wicket and broke the record of 124 runs made by Vinoo Mankad and Chandu Sarawate as openers in Australia in 1948. However, now Rahul and Jaiswal have broken the record of first wicket partnership in Australia. Apart from this, both the players also broke the record of partnership of Sunil Gavaskar and Chetan Chauhan, which they had created together on Australian soil in the year 1981. Sunil Gavaskar and Kris Srikkanth hold the record for the highest run partnership in Australia. Both of them registered a partnership of 191 runs.
