Ten Naxalites have been killed in an encounter between security forces and Naxalites in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district, a senior police officer said.
Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai has expressed happiness over this achievement of the security forces and said that his government is working on the policy of zero tolerance against Naxalites.
He further said that ensuring development, peace and security of citizens in Bastar is the top priority of his government. The thread of peace, development and progress has returned to Bastar.
According to sources, Naxalites entered Chhattisgarh through Odisha. Meanwhile, security forces received information that Naxalites were hiding in the forest.
After this information, security forces started anti-Naxal operation in Margji forest. 10 Naxalites were killed in the encounter.
During the operation, security forces seized weapons including INSAS rifles, AK-47 rifles and self-loading rifles (SLRs).
District Reserve Guard (DRG) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel conducted the search operation.
Congratulating the security forces for their bravery and dedication, the Chief Minister said that the destruction of Naxalites in Chhattisgarh is certain. We are moving ahead in a planned manner to fulfill the goal of Union Home Minister Amit Shah to make Chhattisgarh Naxal-free by March 2026.
