Delhi Metro, connecting the country’s capital Delhi with various cities of NCR, is the lifeline of millions of people. When Delhi Metro services are disrupted, lakhs of people are affected. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has made an announcement which will increase the problems of Delhiites. Services on the Yellow Line of the Metro are going to be disrupted not for one or two but for five days. Trains will not run as scheduled at some metro stations. This can especially cause problems to working people.

Metro services on the Yellow Line will be temporarily affected from the night of November 14 to November 19 due to civil work on the 490 meter long section from Janakpuri West to RK Ashram in Delhi. According to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), this decision has been taken due to the planned construction work on the 490 meter long section between Janakpuri West and RK Ashram. DMRC said metro services on this section will be affected for some time from the midnight of November 14-15 to the midnight of November 19-20.

Three metro stations most affected

There will be no train service between Samaypur Badli and Jahangirpuri after 10.45 pm till services are resumed at 7.02 am. The statement said that three stations (Samaypur Badli, Rohini Sector 18-19 and Haiderpur Badli Mor) will remain closed till services are restored at 7.02 am. However, during this period, metro services on the remaining sections of the Yellow Line from Jahangirpuri to Millennium City Center in Gurugram will continue as usual. According to DMRC, to reduce inconvenience, announcements will be made at stations and inside the metro, giving passengers information about the train’s destination and platform.

Additional trips of Delhi Metro

In view of the dire situation of air pollution in Delhi, GRAP-3 is being implemented. In view of this, Delhi Metro has posted on social media that in view of the implementation of GRAP-III from 8:00 am on Friday, there will be 20 additional trips in the services starting from November 15 (before the implementation of GRAP-II). (in addition to the existing 40 trips) will be included. Thus, as long as GRAP-III remains in force, Delhi Metro will run 60 additional trips on weekdays.
