Airport Luggage Rules: Apple has added a new feature to its Find My network. Now you can easily locate and recover lost items. Not only this, you can share the location of your AirTag or Find My Network device with companies like airlines. This feature is currently in the beta version of iOS 18.2 and will soon come as a free update for iPhone Xs and later models.

How will this feature work?

You can send the location of any item from the Find My app on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac. You can send its link to anyone and by clicking on that link you can see on the map where your item is. The map will gradually update automatically and will show when the location is updated.

More than 15 airlines will use this facility

When you find your stuff, the location will automatically turn off. You can also turn off location at any time during tracking. The person you’ll share your location with will need to prove their identity with their Apple Account or airline email. According to reports, more than 15 airlines around the world will use Apple’s “Find My” feature to locate lost or delayed luggage in the coming months.

This feature is also available in Android devices

This network harnesses the power of over a billion Android devices around the world to help users find lost items or trace their location. Google’s Find My Device network also works like Apple’s Find My network.

This feature of both phones works as a crowdsourced network for billions of Android devices with online tracking support. This means that even if your lost Android smartphone or tablet is offline, you can still track its location and ring it.
