After the sensitive initiative of the Vishnu Sai government of Chhattisgarh, the 6 year old demand of the managers and employees of the Primary Agricultural Credit Cooperative Society has been fulfilled within 24 hours. For the first time since 2018, the salaries and allowances of about 13 thousand employees of cooperative societies have been increased by 25 percent, along with this the employees have also ended their strike.
The strike of managers and employees of the committees ended on the sensitive initiative of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai. The demand for salary increase of the committee employees, pending for 6 years, was fulfilled by the Registrar of Cooperative Societies within 24 hours and the salary and allowances of the committee employees were increased by 25 percent. Regarding the other two demands, appropriate action is being taken by constituting an inter-departmental committee at the government level. Before this, there was an increase in the year 2018.

In compliance with the instructions of the Chief Minister, orders for amendment in the Cooperative Society Employees Service Rules were issued by the Commissioner of the Cooperative Department on 11 November 2024. In this, 25 percent increase in the salary and allowances of the committee employees has been approved. A letter has also been issued by the Food Department to the effect that the paddy will be lifted by the Rice Millers and Marketing Association within one month of the end of the paddy procurement, if even after this the paddy is left in the procurement centres, then the cooperative societies will The proposal regarding providing land for drying paddy will be sent by the Food Department to the Finance Department.
Other two demands also considered
In relation to the resolution of other demands of the employees, an inter-departmental committee has been formed involving the Food Department, Finance Department, Agriculture Department, Cooperative Department and Marketing Union, which will consider the demands of the employees union and send a proposal to the government for resolution. Along with this, all the employees have returned to work in their respective committees and are busy making proper arrangements for paddy procurement starting from 14 November 2024.
The employees have also assured that the farmers will not face any kind of problem during the purchase of paddy. All necessary preparations will be completed in the paddy procurement centers by 13 November 2024. The Cooperative Commissioner and Registrar of Cooperative Societies have instructed all departmental employees and officers to purchase paddy smoothly with transparency.
