Income Tax Department issued RC to 14 thousand GST defaulters

Income Tax: The state tax department has started tightening the noose on GST defaulters. Till now, RC has been issued by the State Tax Department to 14,925 traders and entrepreneurs. Rs 296.15 crore are outstanding on them.

2308 bank accounts have been attached, which contain an amount of Rs 49 crore. One and a half crore rupees have been recovered from the attached accounts. Whereas action has been taken on Rs 26.08 crore through GST portal.

Instructions for running GST dues recovery campaign

Gautam Budh Nagar State Tax Department’s Additional Commissioner II Vivek Arya said that the Principal Secretary State Tax has given instructions to run a state-wide VAT GST dues recovery campaign. In this series, Additional Commissioner State Tax Chandni Singh is taking action against all the VAT and GST defaulters of Gautam Buddha Nagar district.

Bank accounts of defaulters will be confiscated

Deputy Commissioners and Assistant Commissioners of all the blocks are busy locating the outstanding documents, issuing RCs and contacting the defaulters. The department is also meeting the concerned bank officials to seize the bank accounts of such defaulters and recover the dues.

No penalty will be imposed on timely payment

For this work, the Amins are getting information about all the accounts of the traders and sending RCs to their managers on the basis of PAN number. If the traders and entrepreneurs deposit the outstanding amount on time, then the interest and penalty will be reduced.
