GST Collection: A continuous increase is being seen in GST collection. In the month of October this year, GST collection dropped to Rs 1.87 lakh crore, which is 8.9 percent more than the month of October last year. GST collection in the month of October last year was Rs 1.72 lakh crore.
GST collection in the months of April-October of the current financial year 2024-25 has increased by 9.4 percent as compared to the same period of the previous financial year 2023-24.
This year, GST collection of Rs 12,74,442 crore has been done in April-October. However, the government has set a target of 11 percent increase in GST collection.
According to government data, the income in the form of cess has been Rs 12,550 crore. States like Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, Punjab, Kerala saw the growth rate of GST collection in double digits in the month of October.
While the growth rate of GST collections increased in states like Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Jharkhand, Telangana, the growth rate was in single digits. Himachal Pradesh saw a two per cent decline in GST collections for October, while there was no increase in GST collections in Uttarakhand.
