Stock Market Today: The improvement that was seen in the stock market yesterday has been washed away today. After a positive start, Sensex fell 537.67 points. Which was trading 450.30 points down at 79554.99 at 10.34 am. 25 stocks in the Sensex pack fell by up to 3 per cent, while only five stocks traded up by 2 per cent.
Nifty also touched a low of 24158.25, breaking the psychological level of 24300. Which was trading 163.60 points down at 24175.55 at 10.38 am. In the sectoral index, except banking shares, all sectors were trading in the red zone.
Bankex was trading marginally higher following buying trend in shares of private banks and financial institutions. Oil and Gas are trading down by 1.50 percent, Technology Index by 1.35 percent, Metal by 1.44 percent, IT by 1.12 percent.
Lower circuit in 197 shares
Out of 3702 stocks traded on BSE, 1469 stocks are improving and 2068 stocks are trading in decline. 96 stocks reached one-year high and 60 stocks reached one-year low. 187 shares hit upper circuit and 197 shares hit lower circuit. Yesterday, for the first time after two weeks of decline in the stock market amid huge volatility in the last one month, Sensex closed 602 points higher at 80005 and Nifty closed 158 points higher at 24339. Which was the highest improvement recorded intraday in the last one month.
