Lucknow, 25 October (HS). Uttar Pradesh's Urban Development and Energy Minister A.K. Sharma directed to take strict action against the electrical personnel who do not solve the problems of consumers in a quality manner, commit fraud in giving electricity connections and make wrong billing. Energy Minister AK Sharma on Friday held a virtual public hearing under the 'Sambhava' system at Jalnigam Field Hostel 'Sangam' Lucknow and reviewed the departmental work. In the public hearing, the Energy Minister accused Fahad Ahmed, a resident of Gosainganj, Lucknow, in the matter of not giving electricity connection in the year 2019 and taking bribe of Rs 1.20 lakh by the then JE Manoj Kumar Jaiswal for building the line and currently sending the electricity bill of Rs 1.20 lakh to JE Manoj. Instructions were given to suspend Kumar Jaiswal with immediate effect, who is currently posted in Chinhat and also asked to provide electricity connection to the consumer immediately and lodge an FIR against JE by the consumer.

Similarly, the Energy Minister has accused Arun Kumar Gupta in Etawah of not giving electricity connection to Suman Gupta's residence, which is 40 meters away from an electric pole, and demanding a bribe of Rs 90 thousand by a JE who is at a distance of 200 meters in the same locality. Even after complaining about giving connections to the people, there was no solution even after complaining to the Minister in-charge and District Officer and even the higher officials did not take cognizance of the matter, JE Rajkamal Pappu was suspended with immediate effect, charge sheet was given to Axion and clarification was taken from the Superintending Engineer. Gave instructions.

The Energy Minister directed to blacklist the concerned billing agency on the complaint of wrong bill issued by Dhirendra Mani Tripathi of Kushinagar to many consumers on the same meter number in Sewrahi and to take strict action against the guilty electrical personnel. He also asked MD Purvanchal to correct the billing data of Gorakhpur area within 02 days. Taking cognizance of the complaint lodged by Sandeep Kumar of Gorakhpur regarding not giving compensation to the family of the deceased for more than a year due to electrical accident, directed MD Purvanchal to give compensation soon. Managing Director UPPCL Pankaj Kumar, Director UPNEDA Anupam Shukla, Director Electrical Safety Directorate were present in the public hearing and MDs, Chief Engineers, Superintending Engineers and complainants of all Discoms participated virtually.
