Lucknow, 24 October (HS). Samajwadi Party (SP) national president and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has said that the BJP government is exploiting the farmers. Farmers, youth and poor are sad and troubled under the BJP government. Inflation, unemployment and corruption are at their peak. Black marketing and profiteering of fertilizers is taking place in various districts of the state. Farmers are not getting DAP, urea and other fertilizers for sowing potatoes, wheat and other crops.
In the last fortnight, farmers from many districts including Mainpuri, Kannauj had demonstrated over the shortage of DAP. Last Monday, a farmer, upset over not getting DAP in Chitrakoot, committed suicide by hanging himself from a mango tree in his field. The government, which claims to provide fertilizers and seeds to farmers for sowing crops, is not seeing the problems of the farmers.
All records of corruption have been broken in this government. Lies and loot are rampant. Due to lack of proper arrangements for purchasing paddy from farmers, farmers are wandering here and there. Where paddy procurement has been started, there are reports of theft from paddy bags.
Farmers selling paddy are being looted in Hathras Mandi Committee. Ever since the BJP government came to power, the situation has been the same with every crop. Farmers are not getting the right price for their crops. The exploitation of sugarcane farmers by the BJP government continues. Due to inflation the cost price of crops is increasing. There is huge dissatisfaction among farmers regarding sugarcane price.
The government did not make full payment of the previous dues of sugarcane. The BJP government could not fulfill the promise of doubling the income of farmers even in ten years. Farmers are distressed and troubled by the exploitative policies of BJP. In the coming assembly by-elections and 2027 assembly elections, farmers and youth will oust this exploitative BJP government from power.
