BRICS Summit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Russia on 22-23 October 2024 at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin. PM Modi will participate in the 16th BRICS summit to be held in Kazan under the chairmanship of Russia. Themed 'Strengthening multilateralism for equitable global development and security', the summit will provide an important platform for leaders to discuss key global issues.

The summit will also provide an opportunity to assess the progress of initiatives launched by BRICS and identify potential areas for future cooperation. During his visit, PM Modi is also likely to hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts in Russia and invited leaders of BRICS member countries.

This year Russia is presiding over BRICS. BRICS includes Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. Saudi Arabia, Iran, Ethiopia, Egypt, Argentina and United Arab Emirates are its new members.
PM Modi went to Russia in July
Earlier on July 8, PM Modi had gone on a two-day visit to Russia. Where Russian President Vladimir Putin honored Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the Order of St. Andrew the Apostle, Russia's highest civilian honor. For which PM Modi thanked Putin. He said that this is the honor of 140 crore Indians. This is a reflection of the age-old friendship between India and Russia.
