Never get discouraged by challenges or failures while learning from experiences: Praveen Sood

Ghaziabad, October 16 (HS). The investiture ceremony of 92 sub-inspectors (28th batch) of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) was held at the CBI Academy on Wednesday. CBI Director Praveen Sood was the chief guest of the investiture ceremony. On this occasion, CBI Director Praveen called upon the young officers to work diligently while giving top priority to organizational interests.

Praveen Sood congratulated the young officers and their families on successfully completing the training covering various aspects of investigation including modern and new age investigative tools offered by the CBI Academy. He also appreciated the officers and staff of CBI Academy for working hard towards honing the skills of young officers. Referring to the composition of officers coming from different fields, Mr. Sood expressed satisfaction that women officers are increasingly joining the CBI, which he termed as a welcome sign.

Shri Sood asked the officers to render their best services by making best use of the skills learned at the Academy, so as to fulfill the organizational goal of CBI as the premier investigating agency. He stressed that this should be his top priority. He also emphasized that the real learning of officers begins now, as they get involved in actual work during their deployment for investigation, prosecution etc., which provides immense opportunities for further honing of skills. Shri Sood advised the officers to keep learning from experiences and never get discouraged by challenges or failures, as this will provide an opportunity to enhance one's knowledge and expertise.

The CBI Director further emphasized that CBI provides immense opportunities for appreciation of good work internally and advised them not to seek appreciation through external platforms such as social media. He asked the officers to be inspired by the CBI motto of industry, impartiality and honesty at all times. Talking about honesty and impartiality being in the DNA of the CBI, Mr Sood stressed that officers should remain insulated from outside influences. He said that the officers and their families should be ready to serve anywhere in India. Calling for smart work, the CBI Director underlined that hard work means using skills productively to achieve desired results with minimum efforts. He advised the officers to maintain a healthy work-life balance without neglecting their families.

During the ceremony, the CBI Director distributed medals and trophies to the trainees. Shri Srivatsan V was awarded “DP Kohli Award for Best All-Round SI Trainee” and “DCBI Trophy for Indoor Studies”. Ms Raj Kiran was awarded the “Trophy for Cyber ​​Crime Investigation”. Vimal Singh Adhikari was selected for the “John Lobo Trophy for Best Outdoors” and Ms. Megha Parashar received the “CBI Academy Trophy for Dedication and Exemplary Conduct”.

The young CBI officers who underwent 8 months of rigorous, diligent and diligent training after being selected through SSC (Combined Graduate Level Examination) and LDCE joined CBI Academy, Ghaziabad for their basic training on 12th February, 2024. . Cadets were trained in law and investigation skills, investigation of anti-corruption cases, various types of traditional crimes, intelligence gathering, economic crimes, cyber crime cases, bank fraud cases, mobile forensics, forensic and scientific equipment etc. The training program also included strengthening of skills in scientific assistance to investigation like collection of physical and electronic evidence, polygraph, brain mapping, narco-analysis, DNA fingerprinting etc. The course also aimed to develop the highest standards of professional integrity and honesty, respect for human rights and a sense of discipline in the trainees. Trainee officers were provided ground level experience through District Police Units (Urban and Rural) and visits to NFSU, IB, SEBI, SFIO and a nationalized bank and were also linked with law officers. Senior CBI officials present at the function included Smt. Sampat Meena, Additional Director; Manoj Shashidhar, Additional Director; N Venugopal, Additional Director; AYV Krishna, Additional Director, Dr. Padmini Singh, Director of Prosecution and officials of other departments and local administration participated.
