3,83,488 voters will elect new MLA in Kundarki assembly by-election.

Moradabad, 16 October (Hindustan Reporter). District Officer Anuj Kumar Singh addressed a press conference in the Collectorate Auditorium on Wednesday regarding the 29-Kunderki Assembly by-election of the district. According to the District Magistrate, 3,83,488 voters will elect the new MLA in Kundarki Assembly. He told that as soon as the notification is issued on October 18, nominations will start in the Collectorate and will continue till October 25.

Additional Municipal Magistrate I Santram Das Panwar has been nominated as the returning officer for the Kundarki Assembly by-election. Tehsildar Judicial Bilari, Block Development Officer Kundarki, Block Education Officer Mudhapande and Block Education Officer Kundarki have been given the responsibility as Assistant Returning Officers.

District Election Officer and District Magistrate Anuj Singh further told in the press conference that with the announcement of elections by the Commission, the Model Code of Conduct has become effective in the district. He said that according to the ongoing election schedule, the notification of elections is 18th October, the last date for nomination is 25th October, the date fixed for scrutiny of nomination papers is 28th October, the last date fixed for withdrawal of nominations is 30th October, the date fixed for voting is 13th October. The date fixed for counting of votes is November 23. Nomination papers can be submitted by the candidate or his proposer between 11 am to 3 pm.

The District Magistrate further said that there are 225 polling stations and 436 polling places under Kundarki assembly constituency. There are a total of 383488 voters in the assembly constituency, including 207990 male voters, 175485 female voters and 13 other voters. This includes 3494 disabled voters and 1252 voters whose age is above 85 years. There are also 205 service voters in the assembly constituency. During the press conference, Additional District Magistrate Administration, Deputy District Election Officer Gulabchand and District Information Officer Sumit were also present.

District Election Officer and District Magistrate Anuj Singh said that for the convenience of the candidates, the Commission has also made available the online nomination system in addition to the offline nomination system before the Returning Officer. The nomination form filled online by the candidate or proposer must be signed by the candidate and presented personally before the Returning Officer.

The security amount for General is ₹ 10,000/-, for SCST ₹ 5,000/-: For filing nomination in the Assembly by-election, the security amount for General Caste candidates is ₹ 10,000/- and for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates. It is fixed at Rs 5,000/-.

A maximum of 4 nomination papers can be submitted by a candidate: A maximum of 4 nomination papers can be submitted by a candidate. Part-01 of the nomination form will be filled by the candidates of recognized national/state political party in which there will be one proposer and Part-02 will be filled by the registered party or independent candidates, for this it is necessary to have 10 proposers. All proposers should be voters of the same assembly constituency from which the candidate is contesting. Candidates of political parties will also present Form-A and Form-B in original along with their nomination papers before the concerned Returning Officer.

Maximum permissible expenditure limit of a candidate is Rs 40 lakh: The maximum permissible expenditure limit of a candidate contesting for the post of Assembly Member has been set by the Election Commission of India at Rs 40 lakh.
