Flight Ticket Discount: This year, passengers traveling by air on Diwali are getting bumper discounts on flight tickets. According to a report, there has been a decline of 20 to 25 percent in tickets traveling by domestic flights. The number of passengers traveling by flight is increasing day by day. Along with this, a decline in the prices of airplane fuel is also being seen. Because of this, passengers are being given huge discounts on tickets.

Use of dynamic pricing algorithm

Airline companies use dynamic pricing algorithms, under which fares are increased as demand increases. The fares are increased especially on holiday festivals like Holi and Diwali. However, this time a decline is being seen. Diwali is one of the biggest festivals of India and many people visit with family or travel for holidays. Due to this surge in demand for tickets, prices increase as airlines change fares based on booking volume.

20-25% decline on domestic routes

Analysis by travel portal ixigo showed that average airfares on domestic routes have fallen by 20-25%. ixigo Group CEO Alok Bajpayee told news agency PTI, “Last year there was a surge in airfares around Diwali due to limited capacity, the biggest reason for which was the suspension of Go First Airlines. However, this year we have got some relief. “Because additional capacity has been added since then, average airfares on major routes have fallen by 20-25% in the last week of October.”

Flight tickets have become cheapest on this route

According to the analysis, the biggest decline in average airfare has been 38% for the Bengaluru-Kolkata flight, from Rs 10,195 last year to Rs 6,319 this year. At the same time, the ticket price on Chennai-Kolkata route has decreased by 36% from Rs 8,725 to Rs 5,604.

The average fare for Mumbai-Delhi flight has declined by 34% to Rs 5,762 from Rs 8,788. Similarly, the ticket price on the Delhi-Udaipur route has dropped by 34% from Rs 11,296 to Rs 7,469. The decline is 32% on Delhi-Kolkata, Hyderabad-Delhi and Delhi-Srinagar routes.

Oil prices fall by 15%

According to Bajpai, the 15% fall in oil prices this year has also contributed to the decline. This is providing more affordable options to passengers during the festival season.
