Big gift to government employees! Government announced 4% increase in DA and DR

DA Hike: Central employees in the country are eagerly waiting for the increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) from the government. At the same time, Himachal Pradesh government has given a big gift to its 1.80 lakh employees before Diwali. The government has announced a 4 percent increase in salary on the eve of Dussehra, due to which there is an atmosphere of happiness among the employees and pensioners of the state. Apart from this, in view of the festival of Diwali, the government has announced to release salaries and pensions to employees and pensioners ahead of time.

Will get salary and pension before time

Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu on Friday announced the release of 4% pending dearness allowance (DA) for 1.80 lakh government employees and 1.70 lakh pensioners from January 1, 2023. Pending release of dearness allowance will put an additional burden of Rs 600 crore on the state exchequer every year. Employees and pensioners will have their salaries and pensions released on October 28 instead of November 1 and 9 respectively.

Speaking to reporters, the CM said that all pending medical bills of employees and retired employees have been paid, for which a provision of Rs 10 crore has already been made. Instructing the concerned departments to pay all the pending medical bills this month, the CM said that for this, adequate budget will be provided to the departments as per their demand.

Arrears will be paid to pensioners above 75 years of age

Apart from this, Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has also announced to give the entire amount of pending arrears to pensioners above 75 years of age. For this, a total of Rs 202 crore will be spent on salary and pension arrears in this financial year. An announcement was also made regarding the release of additional installment of Rs 20,000 of arrears for Class IV government employees. He said in a statement that Himachal Pradesh will become self-reliant by the year 2022 and there is no such financial crunch as is being reported in the media by national and state BJP leaders.

He accused opposition leader Jai Ram Thakur of “spreading lies” about the shortage of funds and “misleading” the Prime Minister and the BJP national president. He said the BJP has left no stone unturned in “spreading misinformation” about the financial condition of the state. He said the release of dues including dearness allowance and arrears is proof that the state government is committed to address the grievances of its employees and there is no such financial crisis as of now.
