India Canada Row: Amidst the increasing tension between India and Canada, the Indian government has taken a big decision on Monday. India has decided to recall its High Commissioner and other diplomats and officials from Canada.
The Indian Foreign Ministry called the Canadian Ambassador in New Delhi and informed about this decision. India has said that the actions of the Trudeau government in the environment of insurgency and violence have put the safety of officials at risk and therefore has no confidence in the commitment of the current Canadian government to ensure their safety.

Foreign Ministry issued statement
The Indian Ministry of External Affairs issued a statement on Monday evening saying, 'This evening Secretary (East) met the Canadian Charge d'Affaires. He was told that the baseless targeting of the Indian High Commissioner and other diplomats and officials in Canada is completely unacceptable.
“It was stressed that the Trudeau government's actions in an environment of extremism and violence put their security at risk,” the ministry said. We have no confidence in the current Canadian government's commitment to ensuring their safety. Therefore, the Government of India has decided to recall the High Commissioner and other targeted diplomats and officials.
India criticized the Trudeau government
It also noted that India reserves the right to take further action in response to the Trudeau government's support for extremism, violence and separatism against India. Earlier in the day, India reacted strongly to the Canadian government's provocation and also reprimanded Canada. India also warned of taking action against him.
India's reaction comes after the Justin Trudeau government tried to implicate the Indian High Commissioner in the investigation into the murder of Sikh extremist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. This further strained the already strained relations between India and Canada. Now India has taken strict steps and decided to recall its diplomats.
India called the allegations baseless
Reacting strongly to this, India on Monday termed the allegations against its diplomat as baseless and warned of action. India has rejected the allegations against High Commissioner Sanjay Kumar Verma as absurd and part of the political agenda of the Trudeau government, which focuses on vote bank politics.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said India received a diplomatic communication from Canada yesterday, indicating that the Indian High Commissioner and other diplomats are involved in matters related to the investigation in that country. The ministry said India reserves the right to take strong action in response to these efforts by the Canadian government to frame charges against Indian diplomats.
