There is good news for vehicle owners, especially the people of Saharanpur-Muzaffarnagar. Fastag facility has started at Kolki and Rohana toll. Its trial has started from Friday. There are two tolls on the Saharanpur-Muzaffarnagar State Highway, Rohana Kalan (Deoband-Muzaffarnagar) and Kolki Kalan (Gagalheri). There was no Fastag facility at both the tolls. In such a situation, people had to pay in cash. The toll rate here is also higher than the National Highway. One has to pay around Rs 150 toll here for a car alone.
At the same time, due to delay in cash transactions, people had to face traffic jams daily. Due to all these reasons, there was a demand for starting Fastag facility here for a long time. The residents of the area protested against this many times, but every time the toll company shirked its responsibility by saying that it was a matter of the state government (State Highway) etc. Now with the introduction of Fastag facility, people have also heaved a sigh of relief.
Giving information about this, toll in-charge of Kolki and Rohana toll, RP Singh, said that Kolki and Rohana toll were started in the year 2018. But, since then, cash payment was being done on both these tolls, but now on the demand of the local people, the tolls have been equipped with Fastag. Its trial has started. After the completion of the trial, it will be launched for the general public in a day or two.
