Auraiya, 12 October (Hindustan Reporter). Two cousins, who had gone to distribute puja material in Sahar police station area of the district on Saturday, drowned in the strong current of water while taking bath in the Arind river. As soon as the villagers came to know about the youth drowning in the river, they started searching for them. SDM and Naib Tehsildar reached the spot and called divers and started searching for the youth.
Prabhat Babu Mishra, resident of Bahadurpur village of Thana Sahar area, is living in Dibiyapur with his wife Neelam Devi and only son Deepesh, 11 years old. His cousin Lalit alias Sandeep Mishra lives in the village with his family, who supports his family by driving a private auto. Apart from his wife Anshika, he has two sons Rishabh Mishra (19) and Gagan and daughter Ragini in his family.
The elder son used to work in private sector living in Delhi and had come to the village two days ago. The family of Prabhat Mishra and Sandeep Mishra had a Bhandara of Goddess in the village on Friday. In which all the members of the Mishra family participated. After which, on Saturday, Rishabh and Deepesh reached the Arind river bridge situated between Indapamau and Bahadurpur villages on a motorcycle to immerse the puja and havan material in the Arind river.
After throwing the havan material into the river, Deepesh jumped into the river to take a bath. Due to the strong flow of water he started drowning. Seeing his cousin drowning in water, Rishabh Mishra also jumped into the river to save him. But he too started drowning with the strong flow of water. Within some time, both the youth drowned in the river due to the strong current of water. When the two youths did not return home for a long time, the family members became worried and went to the river bridge to see them. Where he saw the clothes of the youth on the river bank. Due to which they feared that the youth might drown in the strong current of the river. After which he informed this to other family members and villagers. Within no time a crowd of villagers gathered near the river. People who had swum the river immediately jumped into the river and started searching for the youth.
As soon as information about the incident was received, the police station along with SDM Nikhil Rajput, Naib Tehsildar Ruchi Mishra and regional accountant etc. reached the spot. Due to youth drowning in the river, the family members are crying badly. Nearby divers have been called by the police. SDM Nikhil Rajput said that divers have been called and a search is being made for the youth in the river and they will be found soon.
