Zakir Nayak: Controversial Islamic preacher Zakir Naik has to apologize in Pakistan. Zakir Naik had recently made fun of Pakistan Airlines (PIA) in a program, which had angered Pakistanis. After facing criticism across the country, Dr Zakir Naik apologized to the people of Pakistan for his comments on PIA, saying, 'I made these comments unknowingly and had no intention of hurting anyone's sentiments.'

Earlier this week, a video of Naik went viral on social media, in which he was seen mocking PIA for charging high baggage fees during his visit to Pakistan last month.

What did Zakir Naik say?

Zakir, who went to Pakistan, said, 'I was coming to Pakistan and our luggage was 1000 kg. I spoke to the CEO of PIA. The station manager told me, 'I am ready to do anything for you. I replied, 'I have 500-600 kg extra luggage.' They offered me 50 percent discount. I clearly told them to either give it for free or go away. I am not charged any baggage fee in India. There they waive my weight by 1000-2000 kg as soon as they see me and here in Pakistan where I am a government guest, I am being given 50 percent relaxation.

Pakistanis got angry with this comment of Naik. Many people also said that whoever invited Naik, please do not invite him again. PIA had to demand the full price from them. Because no true Islamic preacher ever demands any special treatment.

Nike apologized

Naik apologized, saying, 'I had forgotten that instead of focusing on such things, the ultimate goal is to get a 'passport to heaven'. If my words have hurt my Pakistani brothers, then I apologize wholeheartedly.

Zakir Naik is wanted in India

Naik is wanted in India on charges of spreading religious hatred and extremism as well as for alleged involvement in a money laundering case. Naik has also faced criticism in Pakistan for promoting his jihadi mentality.
