Farmers doing organic farming in Himachal Pradesh will get a subsidy of Rs 33,000 to buy a cow. Apart from this, a subsidy of Rs 8000 will also be given for making the floor of the cowshed.

Neha Bhardwaj, assistant technical manager of the Agricultural Technology Management Agency, said during a program in Manjiyar village that farmers doing organic farming in the state will be given a subsidy of Rs 33,000 to buy local cows. Apart from this, a subsidy of Rs 8,000 will also be given for paving the floor of the cowshed.
What is organic farming?
An awareness and public sensitization camp on organic farming was organized in Manjiyar, where Bhardwaj said that chemical fertilizers and toxic pesticides should not be used in organic farming. He said that crops produced through natural farming are safe for health and the cost of farming is also low. By adopting this farming, farmers can increase their income and can also contribute to environmental protection.
He said that the main ingredients of natural farming like Jeevamrit, Vijamrit, Dhanjeevamrit and indigenous pesticides can be prepared at home from cow dung and urine. He also gave information about indigenous breed of cows like Sahiwal, Red Sindhi, Rathi, Thar and Parkar and also told about Rajiv Gandhi Startup Scheme. Pea seeds were also distributed to the farmers in the camp.
